Metrolight Music was founded in 2009 by Singer/Songwriter/Producer Dave Hedin. Based in NYC, Dave is making a mark on the industry with catchy, meticulously crafted songs that have been seen and heard by many worldwide. Dave has composed music for various ad spots, jingles, and brand identities including Sony Music, Columbia Records, Epic Records, Regal Theatres, Cinemark Theatres, AMC Theatres and others.
Classically trained on piano from an early age, Dave took his passion for music and ran with it well past the collegiate level. After working in the record business and helping launch the careers of some of the biggest acts in the industry, Dave felt the studio world calling him and changed course to focus more of his efforts "behind the glass". Dave has received quite a bit of acclaim for the Ignition EP, the debut record by Hedin's rock project called Braving The Atlantic. Self-produced and recorded almost entirely by himself in a home studio, the sound combines gritty, arpeggiated drum hits and guitar blasts with effortless, mountain-sized vocal hooks. Currently Dave has been centering his attention more on commercial music endeavors in addition to recording his second record - an indie dreamwave/pop project that will be released in the fall of 2012.
"While I've been fortunate to have had success in several facets of the business, I am constantly striving to be a perpetual student in the craft of music production and songwriting", says Hedin.
